There are still two types of grains sorted as Whole Grains and Refined Grains. So lets see what they both mean.

Whole Grains

To say in simple words, Whole grains are not processed in machine, and they are just in whole with the outermost layer, known as the bran, and two interior layers, namely the germ and the endosperm. They are rich in fiber, oils, proteins, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and carbohydrates. A few of these whole grains are

1. Amaranth
2. Corn
3. Barley
4. Millet
5. Farro
6. Oats
7. Quinao
8. Rye
9. Brown Rice
10. Sorghum
etc…

Refined Grains

To say in simple words, Refined grains are processed removing the bran and the germ, leaving only the endosperm. They are less in nutrients and fiber. A few of these Refined grains are
1. Wheat
2. Rice
3. Corn
etc…
